Over a century ago, Master Tinsmith, Benjamin Clayton came to Taylor's Falls, Minnesota and opened a small hardware store. In 1889, Benjamin relocated the store across the river, to the city of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, where it now stands.
Benjamin continued to run the hardware store until the 1920's, when his son, Howard Clayton took over the business. When Howard retired in 1960, his son, John Clayton, became the manager. In 1979, John's son-in-law, Mark Sabel, joined the business and presently owns the business with the addition of Radio Shack in 1997.
With each family generation adding its own personal touch, Clayton's Hardware has always been devoted to the hardware needs of the St. Croix Valley Community.
Clayton’s Hardware Hank and Radio Schack are conveniently located downtown in Historic St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. It prides itself in old-fashioned customer service, a lot of know-how, and immediate access to a huge hardware inventory.
Mark Sabel, owner, brings 30 years experience, to the hardware and maintenance/repair business, resulting in individualized customer service with a wealth of knowledge that he readily shares with his customers.
